DC-DC converters spread the load of your accessories across all your batteries. Vehicles without converters connect accessories to a single battery. For example, if your lights are connected to one battery, you are severely stressing that battery and weakening the longevity of your battery pack! 😬

Here is an example of common but incorrect wiring:

DC-DC converters balance the load across the entire pack. When installed correctly they increase the longevity of your battery pack. If not installed correctly they continue to run when key switch is OFF and can result in parasitic drain that slowly discharges your battery pack.

To check if your batteries suffer from parasitic drain, turn your key to the OFF position and turn your headlights ON. If your headlights turn ON, you have parasitic drain.
